Liberation through (hearing and) dreaming

There is a woman in the nursing home who is stuck in a trauma of remorse. She is always in a narrative of something that has been done by someone, and that it wasn’t her. But in this case, she is probably the blind spot. She inspired me to create this artwork, which is about liberation through hearing and dreaming. I wish this work will liberate her (through her dream).

In dutch there is an expression: ‘het hoort zo’, which means It’s supposed to be like that”. A literal translation to english would be “it hears like this’.

metaforically

In this case, hearing is like a staircase with personalities attached to each step, each representing those who did the right thing or acted according to what is supposedly correct.

The struggle to keep hidden the one who acted unethically becomes more difficult when the memory fails. Therefore, to conceal it, it must be repeatedly affirmed that they did not do it, whatever that may be. And there lies the path of immens suffering. This lady suffers deeply.

Suddenly I figgered out her inner hearing is like seashell where she hears all the echo’s of the hidden personalities.
